WHY update this IN THE MIDDLE OF AN AT?? In fact of TWO ATs (Snowball and GvG). It cost my guild a win (we were 9-0 up and on the way for the 10th pressie when it err7d the complete guild - which cost us a top 16) - Many guilds got a no result from that round and many FF the next round due to slow uploads etc.

Problems I have with this "solution"
a) It is taking a long time (over a minute between sign on to the char screen) - maybe it is because I have a higher than average number of accounts, but it seems to be having to go away and match the input up and is about as fast as Xunlai was updating the results...

b) I personally hate having to try and remember and retype in long char names when swapping over accounts and moving stuff around guild/personal storage. At best my typing is poor - does that mean I need to make simple names for sign ins?

A question - why couldnt it have been "Account" names that anet already had most of us record in order to sign up for Xunlai?? These names could be ones that were not linked to the specific characters at all and as such, would be hidden more than a char name?

Oh and is there no limit on the number of tries?? So it "could" just be brute forced?

PS Yes Im pissed coz I cant remember the last 5 storage account names

It wasnt "My" AT son, and doing it an hour earlier or later wouldnt have made a difference to the normal gameplay above what it already did , but it did effect time sensitive gameplay.

It works fine, but you need to close the game and restart via TexMod after any update.

I'd really like to see separate check boxes for account name and the security question, but I suppose the command line switches can do that in the meantime.

The character name entered seems to auto-select that character after log in.

Agreed. I'm glad they're actually doing something about the problem.

I have tons of mule accounts and there's no way i remember the names of the chars on each acount. What the shit, anet, what the shit.

do you know how long it's gonna take me to match each account email with the ign in my mule guild roster? this is just mean.

i guess what we can all do for future references is just make character names with names matching the email to make it easier. still, though.... what is this.

Regina said it was urgent and they needed it done asap. It sucks, but account security > AT.

No, it's a step in the right direction. It's quick, easy, and it works. As I said, it's most likely a bandaid fix until they can do something else. This is a lot better than them doing absolutely nothing.

I really wouldn't mind if they gave you a heads up that this update was going to happen, therefore people would know up ahead to remember their character names.

~At this point its seriously a joke. I technically just lost all my mule accounts that i write random "jasdfjasfsaio" names to store items on. As for CD keys? Gee...this game has been alive for almost 5 years...i doubt everyone still has them.

Man, it's a good thing like yesterday i got really bored w/ farming and i was having trouble reembering all my ig info and i wrote all my charr names, email and such.. if I has'nt i would be sitting here Q.Qing right now. Now i do beleive this is a step in the right direction, a bandaid like someoen said earlier. But im wondering how ppl that are scarter brained like me and have to read your account info off of a index card everytime or ppl that have been away from the game a long time are supposed to deal w/ this? If i came back thinking wow i havent played this in so long i cant wait! oh wait i guess i have to b/c its been 3 yrs since i played and im locked out of my account. i'm just glad it wasnt me. Because i know we are going to get alot of people that wayy back in the day made like 1,000e and want to come back on feeling like a god and cant even get in their account b/c they dont know what their ig names were back then. All im saying is its a great step foreward but its going to leave alot of people ticked and will cause alot of remenisceing about what you were doing and into the last 4~5years xD

What happens when I don't remember if my character is Abedeus del Hueco, Abedeus del Hueso or Abedeus del Huevo (not likely, but still)? It's either Abedeus of the Hole or Abedeus of the Bone. Are there any limits on how many times we can try the security password?

I'm talking about my second account, because obviously I remember some of the 9 characters I have on my primary account, like my almost 3,5 year old Ranger and 2-3 year old PvP Monk.
